Born 23rd August 1941 in the Staffordshire town of Burton upon Trent, John Lovatt played 18 times scoring 5 goals. “Shack” joined the Albion as an amateur in January 1956 signing professional forms two years later in December 1958. He made his debut versus West Ham away in March 1961, scoring in a 2-1 win.
John left the Hawthorns in November 1963 when he signed on a free transfer for Nuneaton Borough, 3 years later he joined Worcester City followed by Banbury Spencer before retiring in May 1968. John is a regular supporter at the Former Players Asociation functions including any Golf days and of course our agm. John has not moved far from his place of birth because he resides in Swadlincote with his wife Sue.
