1985-17.08-Imre Varadi-Hailey Sports PicBorn the 8th July 1959 Imre Varadi joined the Albion in June 1985 for £285,000 signing from Sheffield Wednesday. Ray made 41 appearances including 2 as a substitute scoring 13 goals.

He made his debut versus Oxford United. Imre was born in Paddington and served his apprenticeship at Sheffield United before moving to verton in March 1979.

1985-05.10-Imre Varadi-ASP PicFurther moves saw him pay for Newcastle United prior to signing for The Owls. Imre stayed at the Hawthorns for just over 12 months and moved to Manchester City, a deal that saw Robert Hopkins join the Baggies. Another stint at Sheffield Wednesday was followed by moves to Leeds, Luton, Oxford, Rotherham and a string of non league clubs before he finally finished at Stalybridge Celtic where he was Assistant Manager/Coach. Upon finishing Ray joined the PFA but for many years now has stayed in football as an Agent. He still resides in Sheffield and regularly attends FPA events including our golf day & match day speaking.
