“It was a case of sheer Yorkshire belligerent, that threatened to halt Slaven Bilic’s aim to put clear day-light between Albion and the rest of the chasing Championship pack on Tuesday night, but as the manager himself admitted to the local press at the end of the home game against Barnsley, there will be no ‘free-lunches’ in the Championship campaign this season. But one thing is for sure, his team yet again showed that they do not know when to lie down, as they fought back in the second half to level the game after the men from Yorkshire stunned the home crowd with two fine goals to take a shock lead. The point gained from the Barnsley clash ensures that ‘the Baggies’ remain two points clear before the next round of matches.

The game apart President Brendon Batson OBE, teamed up with Chairman Ray Wilson in the various East Stand Suites, both before and after the game, with Ally Roberston and Joe Mayo joining pre-match tours and touring the corporate boxes. In the Regis Suite, Treasurer Norman Westbury was joined by Stan Jones, Mark Grew, Micky Fudge, Kevin Kent, Stacey Caldicott and Gary Hackett, and it was also wonderful to welcome, yet again, Kate Lovettto the suite for the evening, walking in the footsteps of her late husband, our great and much missed mate Graham.”
