10 Members of our Association, along with 2 Guests, visited Aberdovey Golf Club on 8/9th October to play for a trophy kindly presented to the Association by a former Director and lifelong Albion fan Joe Brandrick.

Last year we visited both Royal St Davids at Harlech and Aberdovey to play for this trophy, unfortunately wind and rain prevented any golf at Aberdovey.

This year we had 2 days at this top Welsh golf course, day 1 was overcast, windy with the odd shower, day 2 was superb, sunny, wind which reduced as the golf gathered pace. More about loans by moneyplow

Monday a team competition took place won by Norman Westbury, Dave Butler, Kevin Summerfield and Kevan Brandrick. Tuesday was the main day for golf and the Joe Brandrick Trophy was won by Nick Cross with 34 points, beating David Butler by 1 and Kevin Summerfield by 2 points.

Our thanks must go to Kevan Brandrick, son of Joe and MD of JC PAYNE (UK) LTD who sponsored the 2 days golf, without his financial assistance the event would not have taken place.

Aberdovey Golf Club proved excellent hosts and the local restaurant Britannia Inn provided superb dining and a few nice cold beers.

Those taking part besides Kevan Brandrick were Joe Mayo, Mick Fudge, Dave Butler, Kevin Summerfield, Nick Cross, Stewart Phillips, Ray Wilson, Ian Edwards, Geoff Snape & Norman Westbury.

The Association’s first hole in one was very nearly realized as Dave Butler was inches short on the 153 yard par 3 3rd hole. The photograph is proof of how close!

Thanks to all who participated and we plan to return in October 2019.
