It is with great sadness that the Association announces the death of former player Geoff Carter who had been diagnosed with Leukemia and recently suffered a stroke. Geoff joined the Albion as an amateur in May 1959 signing professional forms in February the following year.

Cheshire born Geoff made his debut v Arsenal in April 1960, the same day as Bobby Hope. He made 25 appearances at outside left before leaving for Bury in July 1966, then onto Bradford City in August 1967 before returning to play non league in the West Midlands.

In 1974 Geoff became a groundsman at the Spring Rd training ground and stayed for 4 years, he stayed loyal to the Midlands and resided in Tipton.

Our sincere condolences to his wife Angela, his children Michelle, Jane and Mark, his 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and all his friends.
