Dave Matthews

Not many people in any walk of life have achieved 50 years employment with one Company and probably only a handful have managed to do that in the world of Football. So David is a “legend”, he has seen many Managers come and go, he has worked under numerous Chairman, Secretaries & Directors but most of all he must have witnessed the performances whether good, bad or indifferent from well over a 1000 Former Players.

He has witnessed the highs and the lows, the winning and the losing but through all this Dave has shown loyalty, a precious commodity.

The Former Players Association jointly with the Supporters Association is holding a Dinner in Dave’s honour on Thursday 24th March 2011 in the Richardson Suite at The Hawthorns. Former Managers, Coaches and Players are being invited, though naturally it is impossible to invite everyone. We have had acceptances from Alec Jackson,  Cyrille Regis, Brendon Batson, Derek Statham, Tony Brown, Daryl Burgess, John Kaye, Gary Robson, Martyn Bennett, Ally Robertson & John Wile so far plus Former Managers Dennis Smith, Roberto Di Matteo, Tony Mowbray and coaches Colin Addison & Brian Whitehouse.
