BE PROUD FORUM WITH ALBION LEGENDS

BE PROUD is a scheme run jointly by Sandwell Partnership and West Bromwich Albion Foundation in Association with the Former Players, to give those in the Community of Sandwell the opportunity of meeting and quizzing their Baggies Heroes.

Joe Mayo,Ray Wilson, Jamie Bunch, Brendon Batson, Tony Brown, Alec Jackson, Bobby Hope, Mick Fudge, Norman Westbury, Geoff Snape

The scheme started on Thursday 15th April at Wednesbury Town Hall, then each Thursday until the finale on 20th May, 3 Former Players provided a panel, hosted by Tom Toss (BRMB Sport) were fans young and old could ask questions of Former Players.

Those Former Players involved were Ray Wilson, Joe Mayo, Mick Fudge, Geoff Horsfield, Ian Hamilton, Tony Brown, Ally Robertson, Cyrille Regis, Alec Jackson, Richard Sneekes.

The finale at the Hawthorns was a Memorabilia evening were supporters were able to Tour the East Stand Hospitality areas and view memorabilia such as shirts, medals, photographs provided by Former Players.

The Forum was split into 3 Groups and Tom Ross hosted the evening. 240 supporters and families attended this forum with questions both amusing and serious answered by the first group of Brendon Batson & Alec Jackson (photo left of a very happy Jacko)

Then Ray Wilson, Joe Mayo & Mick Fudge took the next session and finally the evening was brought to an hilarious close with the 1968 Cup Winning Trio of Graham Lovett, Bobby Hope and Tony Brown answering questions centred around the 60's & early 70's era.

The Association would like to thank Jamie Bunch and his team at WBA Foundation, Sandwell Partnership and all those who took part. We are proud to be involved in such a scheme and in bringing the Community and WBA together.

The events were such a success that we propose holding an evening, in conjunction with the Foundation, within the next few months with the panel consisting of 1968 Cup Winners Graham Williams, Doug Fraser, John Kaye, Graham Lovett, Bobby Hope & Tony Brown."
